1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2
Welcome to IMS Classic cars, we are proud to offer for sale this stunning 1965 Ferrari 330 Gran Turismo (GT) 2+2
This stunning example was sold new by Maranello Concessionaires in the UK where it remained for many years until being exported during the 70`s to Australia. After 35+ years it was imported into New Zealand in 2008 where it under went a full mechanical restoration.
Chassis number #7291 is presented in Grigio Fumo (Smoke Grey) body color with White leather interior being refurbished during its time in Australia.
Sleek and powerful the 330 GT was the fastest road-going Ferrari when it was launched in 1964.
Powered by Gioacchino Colombo`s 4.0ltr V12 masterpiece fitted with triple Weber carbs coupled to a manual 5 speed gearbox, this large coupe could sprint to from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in just 6.3 seconds, still fast even by today`s standards.
Koni adjustable shock absorbers were installed to improve handling and a dual-circuit Dunlop braking system was used with discs all around to handle the high speed stops.
The body work, of course was styled by Pininfarina, the 330 GT 2+2 shared some characteristics with the earlier 330 and 250 2+2 GTE, but sported a sharper nose and tail, wider grille and the stunning four-headlight arrangement so reminiscent of the 60s fashion.
This highly collectable 1965 Ferrari 330 Gran Turismo is one of only 44 right hand drive examples ever built. Prior to the introduction of the ‘Series II’ 330 GT, a series of 125 ‘interim’ cars were produced, with the quad-headlight external configuration of the Series I cars, but with the five-speed transmission and ‘suspended’ foot pedals of the ‘Series II’ cars.
With less than a hand full of surviving Series 1 330`s left on the road, this is a unique opportunity to secure a truly rare classic Ferrari to enhance your collection.
